{"id":243,"date":"2011-07-22T00:01:00","date_gmt":"2011-07-22T05:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/layingfallow.com\/?p=243"},"modified":"2012-09-13T14:25:28","modified_gmt":"2012-09-13T19:25:28","slug":"bittersweet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/layingfallow.com\/?p=243","title":{"rendered":"Bittersweet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Turkish tea, an ever present element of our Turkish year, provides a wonderful flawed analogy for our imminent departure.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The year was sweet like the cubes of sugar and leaving it is bitter.\u00a0 The problem is Turkish tea, brewed in a unique two pot system, is rarely bitter.\u00a0 Oh well.<\/p>\n<p>The clinking of a tiny teaspoon on a glass tulip cup will always conjure up the layers of history, the dramatic and ever changing landscape and our explorations of a culture and people.\u00a0 I will miss it but I look forward to jumping into our life back in the States.
