A hearty thanks to my dad for leaving this book with us after they visited.  It is a great read and makes me glad we chose Turkey over the heart of the Amazon.  And it has provided nice context for some aspects of our journey.

As we approach four months in country it is good to take stock of our preparations and see what has been helpful and what was a wild goose chase.  Next week I’ll explore the successes and failures.
