I have been playing with blackwork embroidery the past few months. To learn technique I am stitching a sampler. Really. It will be traditional yet exploratory. Here’s a preview of some blackwork. Also, check out the here and here for a couple blog posts with recent work.

Above is a commission.  It is not a street with a Little Free Library on it but a custom drawing of the patron’s block done in the style I have done my Little Free Library drawings.  I have used color in this image for the first time, highlighting the design choices the owner has made with their house.  I realll am excited by the results.  In addition to the framed original drawing the patron is receiving limited edition bookmarks of her block.
