Efes Pilsen is actually a decent beer. I find it surprising that a predominately Muslim country can brew a good beer. Turkey has managed to pull it off.
Grandpa, who we found out is named Hasan, seems to be a decent guy, just like the Efes he sells. Tonight he had us sit in front of his shop and ordered us tea. We then practiced our rudimentary Turkish and English together. A good man like this certainly is entitled to a bite of dinner before the sun sets.
For me, the combination of Efes and Grandpa has been magical. May neither ever come back to haunt me…
Everyone should be entitled to a bite to eat before sundown. And a beer to go with it.
I’m not a beer drinker, myself, but anything served by a Grandpa, and especially one that is patient with the language struggles is okay in my book!
