Window Shopping

For a society with such well defined roles for men and women I think these two shops provide a good illustration of those roles. And who hasn’t realized that a motorcycle ride just isn’t fun if you don’t have a gun strapped to your back? Or a knitting session isn’t worthwhile unless you’ve got a bra that fits?
Here’s how we know I’m not Turkish: I’d have to shop at both places, as I insist on fine foundation garments when I’m wearing my dog collar.
OR….when speeding down the avenue on your motorcycle. What is the name of that second shop? Testosterones R Us?
Alternatively, what good is a bra if you have no yarn to knit? (Every knitter in the blogverse would chime in, “Hear, hear!” if they were here.
the knitting shop makes me think of the line from monty python and the holy grail when they are at the castle anthrax and the lithe young woman says to galahad they all they do is sit around knitting exciting underwear.
I just love Lime’s comment! For some reason that brings to my head a vision of the castle being invaded by a bunch of motorcycle riders wearing heavy duty dog collars, demanding to see the exciting underwear! 😀
I was taken with the idea that once I go home, if only I could draw, I could now sketch scenes from the Mall of America with a similar marveling…
And that perhaps, in time, I could learn to spell in English again…
Excellent. The U.S. is still stuck in gender roles, too. One of my traditional aged college students told me last week that she didn’t want to do research on any political candidates. “Politics is Man-stuff,” she said.
