Eve Walk

Because I’m not a fan of ritual or tradition, my ideal holiday involves “new,” “different,” and “something I’ve never done before and will never do again.”

Clearly, this year had no trouble yielding just such an experience.  My favorite part of the Christmas holiday happened on Christmas Eve, when I went out for a hike with the camera in tow.  Every step had me thinking, “Never again will you be in this place for Christmas.  This day and experience are clearly unique.  Whoopie!”

It didn’t hurt that the light was gorgeous, and I was surrounded by some of my favorite landscape in the world.

The hike, then, was my best-ever Christmas Eve present to myself:

  2. You are right about the light. It really just glows in those pictures. Love the giant mountain in the background of the shot of the minaret.
