“Text” at the Prøve Gallery

“Text”, an art show encompassing a variety of works that are text based or incorporating text, opens this week at the Prøve Gallery, 21 N Lake Ave, Duluth, Minnesota.  The show will run from March 8-23, 2013, with an opening reception March 8 from 7-11 p.m..  Gallery hours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 3-7 p.m..

My drawing, “Raw Material”, is pictured below in a series of images, each getting progressively closer.  The first image is the entire drawing, which measures 28 by 22 inches, unframed.

Since I am trying to be a big-boy-artist, and big-boy-artists explain their work, here is the statement that may be posted with the drawing in the gallery.  It is short and to the point.  Come and check it out, if you can.

A collection of tiny letters, drawn with varying hardness of pencil and circling inwards from “a” to “z”, create a visual pool of resources for the one looking to create words, sentences, or ideas.  This reflects the unlimited amount of choice one has when creating.
